================================================ We own at Powhatan Plantation at Williamsburg, however, since it's so close to home, we've never used it...just traded. (It's only about 1-1/2 hrs away). Anyway, we only go to Williamsburg for an occasional shopping trip to the outlets, and for Busch Gardens when we have kids visiting. I do have some phone numbers you can call for info on the area (from "The Insider's Guide to Richmond"): For info on Colonial Williamsburg, call 1-800-HISTORY, or write to the Williamsburg Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, P.O. My husband lives for golf...plays at least 3x a week (usually more.) Anyway, I asked him about Williamsburg. He says all the courses in Williamsburg are rather pricey, but very nice. Kings Mill has 2 courses, both nice. The River Course is where the ABC Anheuser Busch Tournament is held. Fords Colony also has 2 nice courses. Most resorts have some kind of tie-in with Fords Colony to get a break on greens fees. The Golden Horseshoe also has 2 nice courses. If you don't mind traveling a little, Kiln Creek in Newport News is Excellent. Also, Hell's Point in Virginia Beach (about an hour drive) is "a must play" if you're willing to drive an hour. He also suggested if $$$ is a consideration, The Hamptons is a municipal course in very nice condition. It consists of three 9-hole courses. Much, much less than any of the others mentioned.
