Massanutten
"We loved the restaurant right there at Massanutten, Fairways, I believe its called. We never tired of it, breakfast, lunch or dinner"
Williamsburg
"The resort makes a good base for visiting many historic areas. We also took a day and visited Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Other days we visited Petersburg and Fredricksburg and toured many Civil War Battlefields."
"It had been over 30 years since my last visit to Williamsburg and the surrounding area. Many things had changed, but for the better. The way the history of Williamsburg is presented is wonderful. Each day an important historical event takes place and the guides share their views and feeling about the event. Makes history come alive for those visiting."
"As far as dining, we ate at Christina Campbell's Tavern and it was very good, although you pay for the ambiance. The restaurant at the Holiday Inn 1776 had a great seafood buffet."
"Among other things to do: several outlet malls, the Haunted Theatre Dinner Theatre and the Raucaus Rosie Reumpe's Regal Dumpe (also a dinner theatre of sorts)."
"As an additional feature of the review, I'll include the restaurants we covered while there. The King's Arms Tavern (for dinner) and Chowning Tavern (dessert and drinks), are located in the historic section of Williamsburg. Period entertainment was provided with the meals. While somewhat pricey, the food was good. The King's Arms had a fairly extensive wine list, including many Virginia wines to offer instead of the same old average California stuff. The dessert menu also features several late harvest or ice wines. If I'd go to either place again, I’d consider going later in the evening for drinks, although dinner at one is recommended at least once."
"The Yukon Steak House was a typical steak meal but in an Alaska setting. The Jewish Mother-In-Law had great sandwiches/soups and makes a good lunch choice. Captain Georges's Seafood Buffet is the same place at which all of us have eaten before, maybe under a different name and located in Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach, etc. There also was a Chinese food buffet, forgot the name, located on Richmond Road west of the college about a mile. Forget about it."
