================================11/29/94 Weather in March on Hilton Head is usually fairly warm...perhaps a bit too cool to swim but great for walking or biking on the beach, playing golf and tennis, and the like....(We have been there twice in March)...food: two really good Mexican restaurants are San Miguel's at Shelter Cove Harbor and another place on rte 278 near the entrance to Palmetto Dunes whose name escapes me at the moment. =================================11/15/94 Sea Pines is the name of the largest and oldest "plantation". I am not familiar with the place of that name (althouth it certainly makes sense that were is one that hame..) At the end of Harbourtowne, there is a place we've ahd lunch a couple of times -- the upper deck with great views of the water, the harbour, and the 18th green of Harbourtowne Golf course.. Another restaurant we've gone to a couple of times is the Waterway Cafe in South Beach..(all these references should be clear once you get settled in and get one of the local maps you can pick up everywhere)...Near Sea Pines are several other places we recommend for dinner: Julep's (very good) and for a wide selection of different types of buffalo wings: Wings & Things...these are both just outside of Sea Pines Plantation.. Looks like the weather should be good enough to sail There's a partial response in the other message thread...If you've never been to the area, side-trips to Beaufort and Savannah waterfront are worth it...I don't sail so I can't tell you much about where to rent, etc...In addition to the restaurants Ilisted in the previous message, several others that are not as near to Sea Pines: At Shelter Cove Harbour: Scott's, San Miguel's, the Kingfisher, and the Harbourmastr Right near the entrance to Palmetto Dunes are: Charlies (french bistro) and an excellent southwest style restaurant (whose name escapes me at the moment)....
