> Who knows what internal demand this resort might have in SA? I think it's pretty presumptuous of us North Americans to assume we're the only players in the timeshare world. I met the marketing manager for RCI western Europe on holidays last year and he really opened my eyes - face it, how many of you guys in big east coast cities like to get away to your resorts in driving distance - maybe the rich folks in Johanasburg like to do the same? We need info from somebody in Europe who can check with their RCI office if we really want the scoop!

RCI South Africa is ranked third in the world in terms of memberbase size, behind the USA and the UK. We have 155 000 members, confirmed 172 200 exchanges last year, have 167 affiliated resorts and three offices around South Africa.. Our grading system works along the same lines as the rest of the world, we currently have 30 Gold Crown and 25 R.I.D resorts. Our highest demand area is Cape Town and it's surroundings, my advice to anyone wishing to go to Cape Town regularly is to purchase in that area. There is also a high demand for Gold Crown and R.I.D resorts within 2 - 3 hours drive of Johannesburg.
