I hear they got a new shipment of high end straw which is the main reason for the RID designation.
Actually my post was someone kidding and somewhat serious.. To answer Basil, I have owned about 15 timeshares and visited everyone but one and that one I would still not mind going to. This is just a matter of opinion, I have no intrest in going there but that doesn't mean someone else doesn't. I still believe for the newbie that this is not a good place to spend your money. Start off with something safe and less risky. I have just sold another timeshare yesterday which makes about 10 in 2 years. I have never made less than 25% on any of them so I disagree with Basil. I buy sure things and I cannot be sure I could make 25% on this one. As far as control of a resort being out of the country, do you really think Marriott is going to close down a resort and screw all thier owners . Just becuase one person can't tell them what to do does not mean as a whole we couldn't make sure they did the right thing. This is NOT true with a resort in South Africa. Bottom line is for someone like Basil who owns alot of timeshares and has enough money to not really worry about the investment ( lawyers, what a breed ) I think it's not a terrible risk but for the average person with little knowledge about timeshares and little money this is not a great choice. P.S. Basil. believe it or not I was complimenting you !! I realize your money is important but you know the risk you would be taking and could easily write this off as a loss since most of your other timeshares have work out for you. I fall into this same boat ( don't have your money though ) but I still think it is to risky. I cannot guarntee my 25% on this one so I wouldn't di it. BTW I looks like I sold DRC for more than you did. :) Fletch
