Ownership Swap Page

Timeshare owners may wish to permanently exchange their ownership with the owner of another timeshare. This can be an attractive alternative to going through the hassles of selling one timeshare in order to buy another. Here is the place on TUG where you can list the timeshare(s) you wish to offer and to state what timeshare(s) you would like to receive in return.

TUG provides only a place to facilitate the finding of other owners who may have an interest in swapping ownership with you. All negotiations, agreements, and arrangements are the responsibility of the involved parties and are to be carried out via direct communication between the involved parties.

TUG member Kurt Brown has submitted an article on the TUG Advice Page about transferring a timeshare interest. This is not intended to replace legal advice. Should you have any legal questions regarding such transfers, such as how to draw up deeds, how to take care of transfer fees and the like, please consult an attorney of your choice who is licensed in the state where one of the parties resides, or where the timeshare is located.

To add, modify, or delete your listing on this page, please send an email to Mark Svobodny at mass27@gmail.com. Please include the following information:

  • Your name
  • How to contact you (Email address and/or phone number and/or postal address)
  • Name of the timeshare you are offering
  • Location of the timeshare you are offering
  • Size of the timeshare you are offering
  • Occupancy week or floating time period of the timeshare you are offering
  • Annual maintenance fee of the timeshare you are offering
  • Information on timeshare you desire to receive in exchange
It is assumed that timeshares offered are paid for in full; that maintenance fees and special assessments and the like are up-to-date.

PLEASE!! Disclose any material defects about your timeshare - such as amounts owing on a purchase, unpaid fees, damage to the resort making your timeshare unusable, developer scams, and the like.

As a courtesy to your fellow TUGgers, PLEASE notify me should one of your listed timeshares be taken “off the market” due to an agreed permanent swap, sale, or change of mind.

I have re-organizing the extensive chronological listing, pruning the postings that are more than a year old and placing those listings added within the last year into several Excel files which are sorted geographically. You can view the listing below and sort them by columns or however you wish and save them locally. If you don't have a copy of Excel you can download a free viewer here.

I have tried to accurately transfer all information into the new format, but I expect that there will undoubtedly be some errors. To that end, I encourage those who have placed listings in the last year to check archives for errors and let me know if you find any. Listings that were more than a year old have been purged. If you had a listing that was more than a year old, you are welcome to resubmit it. Hopefully, this will keep the database accurate and up to date.

To all those who currently have Permanent exchange ads and to those who would like to place new ads...PLEASE READ.

TUG has set up a new Marketplace page which include an "Exchange Ads" section. This feature has been in operation for more than a year now and as of this posting has had more than 40,000 ads placed. In order to increase the exposure of your permanent exchange ad, I would suggest you place an exchange ad in the Marketplace section of TUG. Place it in the "Exchange Ads" section and indicate that it is a PERMANENT exchange, somewhere in the seller description. I have talked to Brian Rogers (TUG Administrator) and hopefully he will add some sort of 'tag' or other means of identification to the exchange ad that would flag permanent exchange ads. In any case, the ad is free for TUG members and would definitely increase your exchange ad exposure. I will continue to update this page for the forseeable future, but I suspect any ad placed in the Marketplace will get significently more exposure.

The following archive files are separated geographically as follows:

West Region: Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado.

Central Region: Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennesee, Texas, Wisconsin.

East Region: Everything east of Ohio except Florida

Florida: Both east and west coasts including Orlando

Clubs/Points Systems: Points systems such as HGVC, Worldmark etc.

International: Everything else.

The listing below is in the old familiar format and contains the most recent postings. I will keep a recent addition list here and add them to the archive files when they are a few months old.
